The 5 Best Places to Fly a Drone in North Wales, United Kingdom (2020)

If you live in the UK in Caernarfon or are planning to travel to North Wales, please use this page as a resource to not only better understand where to fly, but also where it is safest to fly a drone. These are some of the best places to fly a drone in North Wales. This is a unique edition of this type of blog post because I am working with Kyle Jones (@with.kyle on IG), who has extensive experience in this area in the UK flying his Mavic Air.

Accessible by hiking trail or train, this steep mountain offers breathtaking views, lush flora and a café. Kyle recommends taking off from either The Miners or Pyg Track.

The second photo above was also taken in the Forest of Dean by Kyle and as you can see, good for beautiful forest photos. I asked Kyle for a good flight spot and he recommended Symonds Yat Rock which is in England

Gwydir Forest Park, a forest of lakes and mountains in the heart of Snowdonia, is home to a wide range of activities as well as bird and other wildlife.

Hiking trails, old mining paths, cycle paths and long-established forest walks make this forest a pleasure to explore on foot, on two wheels or in the saddle.

Leisure lake, popular for birdwatching & sailing, with hiking trails and a wooden sculpture park.

It is a forest road that winds around the entire lake, a great road to drive and ideal for drones.

Also on this last location that Kyle shares with us, there is an amazing story, there is a city under the water, including a church, people had to move to the surrounding areas because they created the lake / dam to supply Liverpool, so they basically drowned a little town.
