Essayer de trouver les derniers signes de l'automne dans le lac Koshkonong ou le lac de Genève

In this blog post, I'll try to combine EV charging choices, stunning TeslaMate charts and beautiful locations in Wisconsin while trying to fin dthe last signs of autumn in Lake Koshkonong or Lake Geneva. 🙂

A week ago, I set out to capture some of the last autumn leaves. I reached the East Madison Hy-Vee Supercharger with only 7% [21.81 miles | 35.09 km] juice in the battery. How long did I have to charge to reach Lake Geneva (one way)? It took about 12 minutes to charge the battery from 7% to 41% or [122.30 miles | 196.82 km].

Determine the Required Minimum Charge

I think it works best when you enter a destination whenever you are charging to determine the minimum charge required to reach the destination. If you scroll down to the bottom, you can see the amount of charge if you return to where you are. This is useful for round trip drives as Tesla hasn't yet added multiple stops like Google Maps but it is in the works per tweets by Elon Musk.

In this case, if I had wanted to reach Lake Geneva and drive home, I would have had to charge for more than 12 minutes, but I had to consider this situation because of the late hour.

Lake Geneva or Lake Koshkonong?

It's 3:00 pm. so, I had to make a choice: drive to Lake Geneva or drive around Lake Koshkonong and through Fort Atkinson? If I were to make my way to Lake Geneva, I would, according to the forecast, have about 30 minutes before the sun sets. Now it's difficult to produce high-quality photos with the Mavic 2 Pro drone if the sky is not super lit. It would also mean a significant amount of driving home in the dark.

I realized I better optimize my time for more photos vs all the extra driving to reach Lake Geneva plus I got to drive a loop instead of the same route back.

At 3:30 pm I reached the Koshkonong Lake. Unfortunately most of the trees in the area were without leaves, but it was still a beautiful day. I couldn't pass up the opportunity to quickly take this photo with my Pixel 3 and move on.

As soon as I found a place to launch the drone, I pulled over.

Last bit of light.

All in all, it was a fun day driving around and enjoying the last of the autumn colors around South Central Wisconsin!
